NBR (nitrile rubber) and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) material difference!

NBR has good oil resistance, EPDM is poor in oil resistance and not durable, but it can resist aging and heat. Generally, EPDM is mostly used for water pipes and over steam; EPDM is better in friction resistance.
1. Nitrile rubber NBR is a polar unsaturated carbon chain rubber, which is copolymerized from acrylonitrile and butadiene. Depending on the content of acrylonitrile from low to high, the oil resistance is enhanced, but the cold resistance is reduced.
Oil resistance is the biggest feature of NBR nitrile rubber, which has good resistance to petroleum-based oils and non-polar solvents, but poor resistance to polar oils and polar solvents.

3. It has good compatibility with polar materials, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyoxymethylene (POM), nylon, and can be made into rubber and plastic materials.

2. Ethylene-propylene rubber uses ethylene and propylene as synthetic raw materials, and can be divided into binary ethylene-propylene rubber (EPM) and tertiary ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM).
