The characteristics of nitrile rubber and EPDM rubber and the quality of rubber hose

1. Nitrile rubber
Nitrile rubber is mainly used in the manufacture of oil-resistant rubber products. NBR for short, a synthetic rubber made by copolymerizing butadiene and acrylonitrile. It is a synthetic rubber with good oil resistance (especially alkane oil) and aging resistance.
Nitrile rubber is produced by emulsion polymerization of butadiene and acrylonitrile. Nitrile rubber is mainly produced by low-temperature emulsion polymerization. It has excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance and strong adhesion. .
Its disadvantages are poor low temperature resistance, poor ozone resistance, poor insulation performance, and slightly lower elasticity. It can be used for a long time in the air at 120°C or in the oil at 150°C.
In addition, it also has good water resistance, air tightness and excellent bonding performance, and is widely used in the production of various oil-resistant rubber products.

2. EPDM rubber
EPDM rubber is a non-polar, saturated structure. The so-called “non-polar” means that the molecules that make up the polymer do not contain polar groups. The so-called “saturation” means that the molecules that make up the polymer do not contain double bonds.
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), as a kind of rubber with good elasticity, wear resistance, heat resistance, weather resistance, ozone resistance, fresh water and sea water resistance, has been widely used in rubber products for automobiles.

3. How to judge whether the rubber hose is good or bad?
Look at the surface of the rubber hose: There are generally two types of rubber surface, smooth surface and cloth surface. The smooth surface requires a smooth surface without bubbles and protrusions; the textured surface requires the surrounding cloth to be flat and at the same distance.
Look at the reinforcement layer: the reinforcement layer is generally surrounded by fibers and steel wires. The more layers, the greater the pressure received, which is an important goal for discrimination.
Check whether the rubber hose is eccentric: under normal circumstances, the rubber tube core is in a perfect circle shape. If it is elliptical or not perfect circle, it may affect the use of the rubber tube.
Look at the bending performance of the rubber hose: bend the hose halfway, observe the surface color and rebound speed, the color change is small, and the rebound speed is fast, which proves that the hose quality is relatively good.
